“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)
There’s a new creature and there is an old one, however, an old man produces the old creature, while the new man produces the new creature.
Many thought going to church, or associating with a particular denomination makes them a new creature. It is only those who are in Christ Jesus that would be a new creature.
A new creature once had a past life when it was governed by the old man. But when the new man came, He made him conform to His new nature so that the old things he used to do became a thing of the past and all things he does become new.
For instance, if you still fight or tell lies the same way you did when you’re not in Him, and nothing changes now that you’re in Him, something is wrong somewhere.
When you gave your life to Christ, the seed of His nature is deposited on your inside which should germinate when you water it with His word. The amount of His word in you which has become spirit and life would influence His new nature in you.
Nobody can become a new creature when the old nature still lies much effectively. This is why God doesn’t change your outlook when you say yes to Christ, He begins the change from within gradually. Only religion tries to change a man’s appearance without beginning the change from within.
It is in Christ that the things you used to do, you do them no more. If there is no significant difference between the life you lived in the past and the one you now live at present, now that you claim to be a Christian, then your new creation reality is questionable.
Remember, going to church does not change a person if Christ does not live within and they live in Christ. Meanwhile, it is the degree of your alignment and conformity with Christ that translates to your new creature manifestation.
You are a great writer.
