Sir, I’m in a relationship with a brother who sees vision, speaks in tongues, but he doesn’t believe that fornication is wrong. I’m confused, what should I do?
Please understand the difference between a churchgoer and a Christian, also know this: a person can be used by God, but end up in Hell because they’re workers of iniquity.
That a person goes to church, does not make him or her a Christian, just as sitting in the garage doesn’t make you a car. A churchgoer is not a Christian even if he or she does what Christians do.
You’re a Christian because you behave like Christ. If you’re in a relationship with a churchgoer, but he or she parades himself or herself as a Christian, do not expect the character of Jesus to manifest in them.
You know why?
By their fruits, you shall know them. Both Christians and churchgoers are known by their fruits, not by their gifts or charisma. It is from the abundance of a man’s heart that what he says or does manifests.
If you’re in a relationship with a churchgoer, do not expect anything less than the characters of an unbeliever from such a person. A Christian who walks in the flesh can mistakenly request sex, but would never lure or pressure you to do so.
Moreover, if his visions are clear and he speaks powerfully in tongues, but yet he fornicates, know that he’s but a borrowed vessel.
God can use you mightily to achieve His purpose on earth, but you won’t reign with Him if you fail to be purged from the filthiness of the spirit and soul that would make you unfit for His glory on the last days.
So, if you’re in a relationship with this kind of person, do not be confused, but understand those things that I told you earlier.
And on what to do, quit the relationship.
Do you think you won’t find someone else if you quit that relationship? Many have been held captive in the wrong relationship as a result of this lie from the pit of hell to keep them in bondage and destroy them.
If you stay in that relationship, chances are high that you’d do what you don’t want to do – commit sexual immorality.
This is why the Bible warns that you should make no friendship with an angry man lest you learn his ways. Don’t be in a relationship with a man or woman who wants you to fornicate, otherwise, you’d become an unrepentant fornicator like them.
Till I come your way next time on another Q&A episode, take charge and stay strong.
You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.
